How to Add a Custom Livery in Kart Racing Pro

Design a custom Kart Racing Pro livery with AI on the official template, then get it in the game: export a .tga, pack it into a .pnt with PaintEd, and drop it in the paints folder.

What you'll need

Install a custom livery in Kart Racing Pro

  1. 1

    Design and export

Upload the kart template to Ailivery, design and refine the livery right on top of it, then export the artwork.

  2. 2

    Save the TGA sheets

Put the exported files in one folder. PaintEd reads them by name, so they must be called a body, chassis, steering-wheel and hubs TGA. Kart Racing Pro prefixes those filenames per kart team — tk_body.tga for a TK Kart, crg_body.tga for a CRG, and so on. Copy the prefix off the template you downloaded.

  3. 3

    Pack with PaintEd

Open PaintEd, press Dir Read and pick that folder. It lists every TGA it found. Type a name for the paint, press Pack, and it writes the .pnt.

  4. 4

    Install and select

Copy the .pnt into the paints folder for your kart, start the game, and pick the paint in the kart setup screen.

If the livery doesn't show up

Wrong filename

PaintEd matches TGA files by name, not by order. A sheet called anything other than what the template pack uses is simply skipped, and that part comes out unpainted.

Wrong template

Every kart has its own UV layout. If the artwork lands crooked or across the wrong parts, it was painted on a different model's template.

Wrong folder

The .pnt has to sit in the paints folder belonging to that exact model. A mod-installed kart keeps its own paints folder under mods.
