Live for Speed custom skin workflow

AI Livery Generator for Live for Speed

Ailivery is an AI Live for Speed skin maker: it paints original artwork on the car’s own skin template and exports one .jpg, named for the car, that drops straight into data\skins.

How it works in Live for Speed

  1. 1

    Brief

Save the car’s skin template from the game, name it for the car, and upload it with an original design direction.

  2. 2

    AI paints

Ailivery paints the artwork onto that template, so every panel lands where the car expects it.

  3. 3

    Refine

Iterate on colour, panel flow, and your own logos until it looks right.

  4. 4

    Export and drop in

Download the .jpg — it keeps the name you uploaded — and put it in data\skins.

Live for Speed skins are a single JPG

What you get

One square .jpg. No second texture, no mod package, nothing to build — that one file is the whole skin.

The name is the car

Live for Speed reads the car from the start of the file name: XRT_myskin.jpg paints the XR GT Turbo. Stock cars use a three-character code, mod cars a six-character skin ID. Keep the name Ailivery gives you.

Live for Speed skin questions

What file does Live for Speed use for skins?

One square JPG. There is no second texture and no mod package — 512, 1024 or 2048 pixels square is all Live for Speed reads.

How does Live for Speed know which car a skin belongs to?

By the start of the file name. XRT_myskin.jpg paints the XR GT Turbo, because XRT is that car’s code. Stock cars use a three-character code and mod cars a six-character skin ID. A name the game does not recognise is skipped in silence.

Where do Live for Speed skins go?

In the data\skins folder inside your Live for Speed installation — wherever you unzipped the game, not under Documents.

Where do I get the skin template?

In the game: Garage, then Colours, then Generate Skin Template. Live for Speed puts the template on your clipboard, so you paste it into an image editor and save it yourself. See the install guide.

Is Ailivery official Live for Speed software?

No. Ailivery is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Live for Speed developers.
