Assetto Corsa EVO install guide

How to Install a Custom Livery in Assetto Corsa EVO

Design a custom Assetto Corsa EVO livery with AI, then get it in the game: download Kunos’s template, paste your car ID, and unzip the exported livery folder into ExternalLiveries.

What you’ll need

Install a custom livery in Assetto Corsa EVO

  1. 1

    Download the template

On the official Assetto Corsa EVO forum, open the ACE SDK Documentation thread and follow its livery templates link. Open Templates, then your car’s folder, and download its EXT_Skin .psd.

  2. 2

    Design it

Upload that file to Ailivery, describe the livery you want, and refine it until it is right.

  3. 3

    Find your car ID

Open the folder below. Each file there is one car in your garage, and the long code at the end of its name is the car ID. Copy the name of the file for the car you want to paint.

    Save files
    Saved Games\ACE\ProfileData\…\SavedCars
    Example file name
    ks_porsche_992_gt3_cup_4b4a56bd-b6c1-2d7e-9175-e044eee9ccbd.carfinalstatewithconsumable
  4. 4

    Download the livery folder ZIP

In the export panel, paste the file name into Car ID, then download the livery folder ZIP. It holds one folder with external_livery.json, EXT_Skin_C.png and EXT_Skin_D.png.

  5. 5

Unzip it into ExternalLiveries and restart

Unzip the folder into ExternalLiveries, then restart the game. The game reads this folder only when it starts. The livery shows on that car, in its base trim.

    Livery folder
    ...\Saved Games\ACE\ExternalLiveries

Prefer a livery tool? Download EXT_Skin_C.png on its own and load it in a tool such as ACE Livery Tool. You need no car ID for that.

If the livery doesn’t show up

The car ID is from another car

This is almost always it. AC EVO binds the folder to one saved car, so the ID has to come from the save file of the exact car you drive.

Wrong folder or no restart

The folder goes in Saved Games\ACE\ExternalLiveries, not Documents\ACE — the game moved it in version 0.5.2. The game reads it only at start, so restart after you add or change a livery.

The car is in another trim

External liveries show on a car’s base trim only.

Other drivers don’t see it

They see your livery online only if they install the same folder.
